July 28th
Charlottetown to Summerside Race
Departing the Charlottetown harbour July 28th, the Charlottetown to Summerside race is a 50 nautical mile inshore race up the beautiful Northumberland Strait. Sailing under the Confederation Bridge, the longest free-standing bridge over ice-covered waters in the world!
But you won’t have to worry about ice, Prince Edward Island has the warmest waters north of the Carolinas thanks to the Gulf Stream effect that warms our waters.
What conditions can you expect? Wind is typically consistent around this time of year and fog is quite rare.
This race is ideal for all boat types and sizes and you can compete in A,B,C, and non-spinnaker classes.
Race the Strait, and round MacCallums Point Lighthouse Point in Summerside and tie up in the protected shelter of the Summerside Yacht Club. Enjoy many fun events and famous Summerside Hospitality.
