July 29th
Summerside to Charlottetown Race
Departing the Summerside harbour July 29th, the Summerside to Charlottetown race is a 50 Nautical Mile inshore race down the beautiful Northumberland Strait.
Sail under the Confederation Bridge the longest free-standing bridge over ice-covered waters in the world!
But you won’t have to worry about ice, Prince Edward Island has the warmest waters north of the Carolinas thanks to the Gulf Stream effect that warms our waters.
What conditions can you expect? Wind is typically consistent around this time of year and fog is quite rare.
This race is ideal conditions for all boat types and sizes and you can compete in A,B,C, and non-spinnaker classes.
Race the Strait and round St Peters Island, finish in Charlottetown Harbour.
